RESOLUTIONARIES

RESOLUTIONARIES

It's a New year
Cheers to new beginnings
Individual Scrambling and panting
Few minutes to another evolution
To another cycle, to join screams of joy.
In individuals location
Fireworks exploding in its colourful varieties
Massive singing and rejoicing in the congregation
Basking in euphoria and thrill of witnessing
And ushering in a new year.
An unending cycle of resolution shenanigans
Individual promises to The most high
Personal dedication to self to change
And never to get high
Never to cheat, womanise and other of its vices.
A bucket list followed through for a month
Or less, when the scent of new year wears off
And back to where they left off.
Why not see the Genesis of the year
As a normal day, deal with the day
Before worrying about tomorrow
Conscious efforts and not mere words on paper
One day at a time, before another cycle completes
And another resolution wasted.
A change of perspective I propose
Only if all and sundry see each day as an opportunity
To change and be it's agent
To see each day as a new beginning,
Not waiting for every 365th day.
Before remembering.
